TRIQUENCE® Shear Stream Mixer for batch and continuous operation
Radical agglomerate removal through combined micro and macro mixing with additional shear heads.
With shear stream mixers, the separately driven rotor/stator shear heads, which are flange mounted to the mixer body, support the work of the main mixing mechanism – particularly suitable for removing agglomerates, when pasting or breaking up large pieces of ingredients.
With their additional feed momentum, shear heads like these also accelerate the mixing, which means a considerable reduction in the mixing time. The flush fitting flange mountings allow the entire shear head to be pulled out without dismantling the tools.
It is possible to fit the mixer with internally flush blind flanges to allow shear heads to be retro-fitted at a later date.
The patented rotor/stator shear heads with counter-flow induction have proven to be especially effective.
The shear rate on the rotor/stator shear heads can be adjusted throughout a broad spectrum – through the motor speed, the rotation direction, the gap width and diameter.
Machine sizes: with capacities of 50 to 31,500 litres.
The patented rotor/stator shear heads:
The mixing blades of the central mixing arrangement feed the material into the intake zone of the patented shear heads. The material is then drawn in axially in both directions by the rotor blades, passing through the stators with their shearing edges and falling back through lateral apertures to rejoin the bulk mass.
Recipes can be changed without any cleaning problems:
The end wall of a mixing vessel is designed as a cleaning door. It is closed by a fast-action screws and an electro-magnetic locking mechanism. This allows the mixing mechanism to be removed from the shaft to be cleaned or replaced by a different design of mixing mechanism if other mixing tasks require this. Designs are also available for operation as Pressure Reactor or Vacuum Dryer.
- Standard mixing time: 1 to 3 minutes.
- Centrifugal mixing system with Froude number between 1 and 6 improves material and heat exchange. There are no concentration or temperature gradients.
- Minimum maintenance time and effort. High level of environmental and occupational safety.
- Materials and surface finishes can be selected to suit specific ingredients and application.
Machine sizes:
The Intensive Mixer is available in laboratory, pilot plant and production sizes with a total volume ranging from 2.5 to 31,500 litres as well as special constructions for special uses.
