TRIQUENCE® mixing dryers and reactors
Mixing reactors and vacuum dryers based on the TRIQUENCE® system with a considerably improved heat transfer.
In conventional mixer designs, the product is turned once only for each shaft rotation. With the TRIQUENCE® mixers it is turned three times.
This produces the following effects:
- The mixing effect is significantly improved, which in turn means
that:
- Temperature and concentration gradients are reduced,
- A larger, constantly renewed free surface area is created, as the area is more effectively disaggregated.
- The transfer of heat between product and mixer wall is improved
as a result of
- the increased frequency with which the product adjacent to the wall is agitated,
- the more intensive mixing.
The end result: a reduction in drying time of up to 50 percent. This is achieved without increasing either the complexity or the cost of the machine.
The TRIQUENCE® mixing system offers the ideal solution for solid-liquid systems, horizontal mixing reactors and vacuum dryers.
Reactors and dryers are also available in shear stream design.
The main advantages are:
- Faster processing can be achieved because the various process stages are combined in batch operation – e.g. mixing, reacting, drying – without running the risk of separation in subsequent stages.
- Improved mass and heat transfer. Frequent and intensive short-term contact between product particles and heated or cooled vessel wall surfaces results in a high degree of heat transfer.
- Simple and effective control in systems with phase change.
- Vacuum drying in the same machine.
- Hermetically sealed process chamber.
- Significant increase in performance, product quality and efficiency can be achieved by addition of built-in knife heads or rotor/stator shear heads which break up agglomerates.
Moreover, these efficient multifunction mixers can also accommodate all conceivable equipment specifications – including special drives, vapour filters, solvent recovery, etc.
Horizontal mixing reactors and vacuum dryers are available in laboratory, pilot plant and production sizes with a 125 to 31,500 litres total capacity as well as special constructions for special applications, including as continuously working machines and with cantilever mixing shafts for batch operation.
The mixing reactors are designed for internal pressures of up to 40 bar. Complete electrical switch gear and vacuum and heating/cooling systems can be supplied for the drying or reaction process if required.
